Grumman starters from Sky-Tec are a combination of the best of several ubiquitous aircraft starter manufacturers under the Hartzell Engine Technologies umbrella. The Sky-Tec brand now includes starters and support for Prestolite, Electrosystems, Lamar and Kelly designs.

It’s worth noting that the newly reintroduced Sky-Tec 149/122NL is now dedicated to 12-volt systems, while the 149.122NL/ec variant is specified for 24-volt systems.

  • FAA PMA certified for non-geared Lycoming piston aircraft engines
  • Features the Kickback Protection System (KPS) with a field-replaceable shear pin
  • Serves as the most popular replacement for legacy Bendix-style in-line starters
