The boot seals around the applicable nose-gear torque-tube area to reduce airflow, heat, fumes, and possible carbon-monoxide entry into the cockpit. The listing identifies use on applicable Grumman aircraft built in 1976 and earlier.

Was quite tight on the strut and a little short at the rear, but it’s sure better than the old, leaky boot!
