Anyone who has installed front seats into a Grumman AA5 Series knows it can be challenging. Sometimes, mechanics will substitute a hex bolt for the clevis bolt specified in the parts and maintenance manuals.

This can lead to two problems:

• First, the seat may catch on the bolt heads and not lock in.
• The second is the bolt head can come in contact with other seat components and, over time, destroy them. These components are complicated to obtain. Therefore, ensure you use the appropriate hardware in your Grumman Traveler, Cheetah, or Tiger.
