Description
AeroShell Oil 80
Straight Grade Engine Oil
AeroShell Oil 80 consists of straight mineral oils formulated from select high-viscosity index base oils. Only minimal additives are used: a pour point depressant to enhance low-temperature fluidity and an antioxidant.
AeroShell Oil 80 is suitable for all aviation piston engines of civil aircraft where non-dispersant oils are necessary. It is also recommended for the initial run-in period of new or recently rebuilt aviation piston engines.
The high viscosity index base oils in AeroShell Oil 80 are engineered to provide superior protection for engine components, offering reliability and peace of mind for consistent performance between scheduled maintenance.
AeroShell Oil 80 meets the SAE J-1966 specification (SAE Grade 40). It holds military qualifications, included in the US Navy’s Qualified Products List (QPL) and the UK Ministry of Defence’s Technically Acceptable Products List (TAPL). The production facilities comply with the specified authorities to ensure a consistently high-quality standard.
Features
The high viscosity index base oils in AeroShell products maintain their viscosity and protect engine components effectively under the high shear stresses of engine operation.
It is suitable for all reciprocating engines of civil aircraft in situations requiring run-ins or when using older engines that need non-additive type oils (always refer to manufacturer recommendations).
Compatible with other approved aircraft piston engine oils. Since AeroShell Oil 80 conforms to SAE J-1966 and is listed on relevant QPLs, switching from other approved oils is straightforward, provided they are also qualified.
AeroShell Oils are stable during storage. Proper storage and handling ensure that they do not impact their quality, properties, or performance over time.
